Hello, I’m Eileen! I’m an intern counsellor who values creating a warm, safe, and inviting space where clients feel truly heard and supported. I believe that every individual holds a unique story and the innate ability to grow and heal. I strive to provide a collaborative, caring, and understanding environment where we can work together to navigate troubling thoughts, challenge old patterns, and explore unprocessed experiences and emotions. Above all, I’m here to honour the raw, authentic, and deserving person you are.

Why I Do This Work?
What inspired you to become a counsellor?
With many years of experience in the education field, I have had the opportunity to work closely with neurodivergent children and adolescents with learning disabilities. This role has been deeply fulfilling and has highlighted the significant impact of mental health in students’ lives, particularly regarding self-esteem. It was through this experience that I discovered my passion for helping individuals grow in confidence, empowerment, and emotional well-being.
What inspires you most in your work with clients?
What inspires me most is witnessing clients grow, whether it’s experiencing a glimmer of hope, challenging their old patterns, or reclaiming their sense of empowerment. Being able to support someone through a vulnerable journey of growth and healing is incredibly rewarding.
What It’s Like to Work With You
What can someone expect in their first session with you?
My focus in our first session is on building a genuine connection and creating a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I strive to meet you where you are—walking alongside you and seeing the world through your lens. My goal is to ensure you feel heard and seen as we begin our work together
How would your clients describe your greatest strengths?
Clients would describe me as a calming and grounding presence. They appreciate my warmth, patience, and commitment to understanding their stories, along with my ability to listen, empathize, and hold space for both vulnerability and growth.
Your Approach & Philosophy
What ideas or approaches guide your work?
My work is grounded by the idea that meaningful therapy begins in a space that feels warm, welcoming, and supportive, where you feel seen, heard, and connected. I seek to understand how your life experiences, cultural background, social identities, and relationships have shaped the person you are today.
What’s one thing you wish more people understood about therapy?
I wish more people understand that counsellors are not healers. They can’t magically “fix” your problems; rather, therapy provides a place to reflect, process thoughts and emotions, and build greater empowerment. Any growth you experience comes from the effort you put into creating change in your life.
Life Beyond the Therapy Room
How do you take care of your own well-being?
I take care of own well-being by practicing mindfulness, staying connected with loved ones, and staying active—whether that’s through a sweaty workout or spending time outdoors. Prioritizing self-care helps me show up fully for my clients.
What brings you joy or helps you recharge outside of work?
Outside the therapy room, you can find me hosting dinners for friends, playing board games, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and exploring new restaurants around town.
Guidance & Encouragement
What would you say to someone who’s nervous about starting therapy?
If you’re nervous about starting therapy, know that it’s completely normal! The fact that you’re reading this already shows courage and a willingness to take a step toward change for yourself. Therapy offers a safe, non-judgmental space where you can move at your own pace. Simply showing up and being open to exploring your story is a meaningful step forward.
