Hello, I’m Eileen! I’m a postgraduate counsellor at HealthMind Clinic, having completed my Master of Counselling at City University. I value creating a warm, safe, and inviting space where clients feel truly heard and supported. I believe every individual holds a unique story and an innate capacity for growth and healing. I view counselling as a collaborative journey, where I meet you exactly where you are, walking alongside you to understand the world through your lens. Above all, I’m here to honour the raw, authentic, and deserving person you are.

Why I Do This Work?
What inspired you to become a counsellor?
My path to counselling is rooted in an extensive background in education, where I worked closely with neurodivergent children and adolescents with learning disabilities. This fulfilling role highlighted the significant impact of mental health on students’ lives, inspiring me to pursue a career in counselling to support a broader demographic of individuals.
What inspires you most in your work with clients?
What inspires me most is witnessing clients grow, whether it’s experiencing a shift in perspective, challenging old patterns, or discovering a newfound sense of self-compassion. Being able to support someone through a vulnerable journey of healing is incredibly rewarding.
What It’s Like to Work With You
What can someone expect in their first session with you?
My focus in our first session is on building a genuine connection and creating a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I strive to meet you where you are—walking alongside you and seeing the world through your lens. My goal is to ensure you feel heard and seen as we begin our work together.
How would your clients describe your greatest strengths?
Clients would describe me as a calming and grounding presence. They appreciate my warmth, patience, and commitment to understanding their stories, along with my ability to listen, empathize, and hold space for both vulnerability and growth.
Your Approach & Philosophy
What ideas or approaches guide your work?
I believe meaningful therapy begins in a warm and supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and connected. I want to understand your unique story—how your relationships, life experiences, and social identities have shaped the person you are today. Together we will collaboratively navigate troubling thoughts, challenge old patterns, and explore underlying emotions.
What’s one thing you wish more people understood about therapy?
I wish more people knew that counsellors are not healers—you are the driver of your own growth. Therapy offers a supportive place to reflect on your thoughts and experiences, process difficult emotions, and build greater resilience. The real growth comes from the commitment and effort you put into creating change your life.
Life Beyond the Therapy Room
How do you take care of your own well-being?
I take care of own well-being by practicing mindfulness, staying connected with loved ones, and staying active—whether that’s through a sweaty workout or spending time outdoors. Prioritizing self-care helps me show up fully for my clients.
What brings you joy or helps you recharge outside of work?
Outside the therapy room, I find joy in connecting with nature, community, and good food. You can usually find me cuddling with my little Maltipoo puppy, hosting cozy dinner and board game nights with friends, or exploring new restaurants around town. To truly reset, I love heading into the mountains for hiking, camping, and snowboarding.
Guidance & Encouragement
What would you say to someone who’s nervous about starting therapy?
If you’re nervous about starting therapy, know that it’s completely normal! Sharing your inner world with a stranger takes real courage. I want you to know that you are in control of what and how much you’d like to share in our sessions. Simply showing up and being open to exploring your story is a huge step forward.
I’m here to walk alongside you, navigating each step at a pace that feels right for you.
